Cure(d) mid-week blues, with these tasty morsels – a smoky look

Where to start? Screw the cutlery… seriously, put them down and use your hands! Fingers more importantly and a love of bacon is also a requirement.

Begin this look with a white base (for the fatty bits) and then layer in dark and light pink (to mimic the marbled smoky shades of fleshy bits), with edging of light taupe (for the rind).

Fun and little bit of a quirky look (looks edible but not always the most wearible look) and as many of you know, nothing makes pink pop’n’crackle like an aqua contrast talon. Prepare for a lot of commentary with these ones eg. why bacon is evil, shouldn’t be a daily food…

Of all my manicures this one has caused the most heated debate; some peeps saw these as Cotton Candy, others saw Pink Nebula (they’ve both been posted already) and finally a few agreed with bacon.

Love this manicure overall, nearly as much as I love actual bacon – but everything in moderation… as in don’t overwork the colour layering or it won’t look right. Following the recipe and don’t rush, or it’ll be inedible and look awful.

Bacon is a magnificent beast (and not just the oinky type), but if you eat too much... dance it off. Shake it like a polaroid *looses breath* OK, break-time.

Fabulous, x

So what you think, Darling?

Share your experiences with cured meats and deli treats. What’s your favourite mix, I like holumi, with olives and bacon/prosciutto on toasted turkish bread… topped with good olive oil.
